In November 1911, a group of thirty-five Norwegian Lutherans met and founded Outlook College. In 1939, the institution became Saskatchewan Lutheran Bible Institute (SLBI) and finally Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute (LCBI) in 1952. While respecting their Lutheran experience, the founders sought to make education accessible to students of all backgrounds. LCBI, to this day, celebrates diversity and accepts students from across Canada and around the world. Our mission is to provide a high quality education for youth helping them discover their gifts and to develop their personal potential as members of the family of God, through a sound academic, worship and boarding school experience.
Nestled in the countryside on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River in Outlook, Saskatchewan, Canada, LCBI High School is a co-ed boarding school with a picturesque campus offering a learning environment second to none. Our students are instructed by fully-accredited teachers who deliver courses recognized by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education. All courses are completely transferable to other Canadian provinces, and can be used for entrance into Canadian and American universities.
LCBI is a Christian school of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada. Our school provides an ecumenical environment where students are encouraged to develop their gifts as individuals while developing a sense of social responsibility and compassion for others. As part of their experience at LCBI, students volunteer their time locally and abroad to help the less fortunate – e.g., assist those in need like the elderly, shut-ins, the mentally challenged or people who simply need a helping hand. Our students also have opportunities to take part in one of LCBI’s annual missions which have included Vancouver and Victoria, BC, Mexico, Grenada and Washington, DC.
LCBI offers students countless extra-curricular opportunities. Our student athletes compete in sports such as soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, curling, badminton, cross country, track and field, and golf. LCBI also has a strong fine arts program. Students may participate in voice and piano lessons, mass choir, small group performances or drama productions. Students also have the opportunity to take part in outdoor activities like hiking and skiing in the Canadian Rocky Mountains or canoeing at nearby Prince Albert National Park.
The mission of this Christian school is to provide a high quality
education for youth, helping them to discover their gifts and to
develop their full potential as inquiring, knowledgeable
and caring members of the family of God, through a sound academic ,
worship, and residential life that encourages them to become
active, compassionate and lifelong learners.
